6. How to adjust privacy & security-related settings in Mozilla Firefox

In this demonstration, we’ll see how to manage privacy and security settings which include history, cookies, passwords, add-ons and more.

1) Open the menu.

2) Go to Options.

3) Click Options.

4) Go to the Privacy tab.

Here you can choose to have Firefox remember your browsing, download, and search and form history, and choose to accept or decline cookies from sites. We have covered these options in greater detail in previous videos in this series.

5) Click Security.

We have already covered passwords in the last tutorial, but here is where you can choose to have Firefox remember the passwords you use for sites.

Add-ons are plugins or extensions that can be used to modify the behavior of existing features or add new ones.

If this first box is checked, Firefox will warn you when sites try to install add-ons.

6) Click Exceptions.

Any websites listed here will automatically install add-ons without asking.

7) To add an exception, type the address of the website.

8) Then click Allow.

9) To remove a site, select it.

10) And click Remove Site.

The last two options block reported attack sites and web forgeries. It’s recommended you keep both of them selected.

That’s it! Now you know how to manage your privacy and security settings in Mozilla Firefox.
