Here are the answers to the most common questions on FTP issues.
I have a shared multiple class C IP address type of hosting package (V3C, V5C, V9C or special offer 10MSNLH account and I’m getting a login incorrect authentication error when I try to login to my domain using my FTP software, what is wrong?

I have added multiple domains to one of my IP addresses through the user account. But when I FTP in or look in file manager I don’t see it, where did it go?

1. I have a shared multiple class C IP address type of hosting package (V3C, V5C, V9C or special offer 10MSNLH account and I’m getting a login incorrect authentication error when I try to login to my domain using my FTP software, what is wrong?

Answer: 99% of the time it is the FTP Host you have setup that is wrong. Some of our older email templates told you to use ftp.yourdomain.com. This is not correct. You must use the first IP assigned to you when you first signed up for your web hosting account. You can locate that IP address in your email with the subject: Your Virtual Server Nameservers and panel login info. That email will have your main IP address. Use that one as the FTP host instead of ftp.yourdomain.com.

2. I have added multiple domains to one of my IP addresses through the user account. But when I FTP in or look in file manager I don’t see it, where did it go?

Answer: When you FTP or use the file manager to maintain multiple websites on the same IP or in the same user account you should always click the domains folder. Clicking the domains folder will list out all of your domains in that user account. If you click the first public_html folder it takes you to the last domain you added to your account. If you do that, click back to the folder above and then click domains.
