A one way inbound link is a link to your site from another site. It is not a link trade. For example if site A links to site B that is a one-way inbound link. If ten sites link to you and those ten sites are completely off topic and have nothing to do with what your site is about, the influence of those links may be diminished. As your site grows and gets more and more inbound links, the more you can get from like sites or similar “on topic” sites the better off you will be.
